TL;DR: Need a plumber in Croydon Park? We handle blocked drains, burst pipes, hidden leaks, dripping taps, dodgy toilets and no hot water. Licensed plumbers, a fixed price before we start, and an honest ETA instead of a vague “sometime today”. Call now or book online and tell us what’s wrong.

Old bungalows, older drains

Croydon Park is full of 1920s and 1930s brick and Californian bungalows on decent blocks, with big established street trees out the front. Lovely to look at. Less lovely underground.

Sewerage first went in around this part of Sydney in the 1910s, and plenty of homes here still run wastewater through original or early-replacement clay lines out to the street. Clay pipes join in short sections, and those joints are exactly where roots find moisture. That’s why the classic Croydon Park call isn’t a one-off blockage. It’s the same drain backing up every autumn, or every time the house is full of people over the holidays.

If your drain has blocked more than once in the past year, the blockage isn’t really the problem. The pipe is. We clear it first so you can use your bathroom again, then run a camera down to show you what’s actually going on before you spend money on anything bigger.

Units, townhouses and semis have their own problems

Roughly a third of the homes here aren’t freestanding. There are red-brick walk-up blocks from the 60s and 70s, newer townhouse complexes along the outer streets, and plenty of semis in between. Different building, different plumbing headaches.

In older unit blocks the usual suspects are a shared stack that backs up into the ground-floor bathroom, a hot water unit tucked in a cupboard or on a balcony that’s well past its use-by date, and leaks that show up in the flat below yours before you ever notice them. In townhouses it’s often mixers, cisterns and small hot water units that were all installed at the same time and now fail at the same time.

If it’s a shared pipe or common property, we’ll tell you straight so you’re not paying for something strata should be sorting. If it’s inside your walls, we get on with it.

What Croydon Park calls us about most

No hot water

Cold shower on a Monday morning is not a wait-and-see job. We work out whether it’s a failed element, thermostat, gas issue or a tank that’s rusted through, and give you the repair-or-replace answer with a price attached. See hot water systems.

Burst pipes and water where it shouldn’t be

Old galvanised and early copper runs in these houses get thin with age, and a small split can flood a hallway fast. Turn the water off at the meter, then call us. See burst pipes.

Hidden leaks

A damp skirting board, a musty smell in a built-in robe, a water bill that jumped for no reason. We find it without pulling your bathroom apart guessing. See leak detection.

Drips and worn tapware

Original taps in an original bathroom eventually need more than a washer. We repair what’s worth repairing and replace what isn’t. See leaking taps and tap and mixer replacement.

Gas work

Cooktops, heaters, hot water and gas lines for renovations, done by a licensed gas fitter. Never a job for a handyman. See gas fitting.

After-hours emergencies

Overflowing sewage, a burst pipe at 11pm, no water at all. We’re on call around the clock. See emergency plumber.

Stormwater, the low side of the suburb and heavy rain

The southern edge of Croydon Park runs down to the Cooks River, and the flat low-lying ground near the river was flood-prone long before the houses went up. If you’re on that side, or anywhere the land falls toward your back door, the plumbing that matters when a big storm rolls through is your stormwater: downpipes, surface grates, and the line running out to the kerb or the street main.

Most of the water-in-the-yard calls we get after heavy rain come down to a blocked or collapsed stormwater line, or a grate that’s been slowly silting up for years. Cheaper to check it in dry weather than to mop up after the next downpour.

Getting here, and what we do about traffic

Georges River Road cuts straight through the middle of the suburb and it clogs up at the usual times. Croydon Park also has no station of its own, so almost everything moves by car, and street parking in the tighter older streets can be a squeeze. We factor all of that into the ETA we give you rather than quoting a best-case time we can’t hit. If we’re running behind, you get a call, not silence.

We cover the surrounding suburbs too, so we’re often already nearby in Ashfield, Ashbury, Enfield, Belfield, Croydon, Burwood Heights, Campsie or South Strathfield. You can see our wider coverage across Canterbury-Bankstown or browse all areas we service.

Croydon Park plumbing questions

How quickly can you get to me?

Tell us what’s happening and we’ll give you a real window based on where our vans are, not a guess. Emergencies get priority.

My drain keeps blocking. Do you have to dig up the yard?

Usually not. We clear it with a machine first, then use a camera to find the cause. Digging is a last resort, and only after you’ve seen why it’s needed.

Do you work on units and townhouses?

Yes. Houses, semis, walk-up units and townhouses. If the fault sits in common property, we’ll point that out before you’re out of pocket.

Is my hot water system worth repairing?

Depends on age, type and what’s failed. We’ll give you both options with a price for each and let you decide.

Can you handle gas as well as water?

Yes, with a licensed gas fitter. That covers appliances, lines and leak checks for homes and small commercial sites.

Next step

If something’s leaking, blocked, cold or making a noise it shouldn’t, don’t wait for it to get worse. Call Jasco now or book online, describe the problem in a couple of sentences, and we’ll tell you what we think it is, when we can get to your place in Croydon Park, and what it’ll cost before a single tool comes out of the van.
